LaShawn Erby is Co-Chapter Lead and Co-founding member of Black Lives Matter Lansing. As such, she and her team have organized and facilitated proactive conversations between the community and law enforcement since 2014.

She is a native Texan, Baylor University Alumna and entrepreneur serving as President and CEO of One in a Billion Consulting. Her work has led her to local, state, regional and national stages including: Microsoft, University of Michigan, Michigan State University College of Law and The International UAW Annual Civil and Human Rights Conference at Black Lake.

Additionally, she is co-founder of the Next Young Phenom Foundation, where for the past 3 years she has provided exceptional programming to underserved youth in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering Arts and Math.

In 2012, Ms. Erby moved to Lansing, MI to manage offices in Jackson and Lansing MI for the Obama-Biden Re-election Campaign. Her five county area included: Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, Jackson and portions of Shiawassee Counties.

She is a member of the Union Missionary Baptist Church Leadership Team, volunteer Meals on Wheels driver and a Board Member of the Michigan Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence.

She serves as Executive Director of ACTION of Greater Lansing, a social justice nonprofit organization made up of congregations and community partners.
